  • CLEAN TOP EDGES: The down cut spiral pushes chips down, so the top surface stays crisp with little tear-out on veneer, plywood and melamine.
  • MANY MATERIALS: Downward force keeps thin sheets flat. Cuts hardwood, softwood, plywood, MDF, veneer and melamine, plus acrylic, PVC, ABS and laminates. Also cuts aluminum and brass.
  • FITS YOUR MACHINE: 1/4 inch shank fits most CNC routers, desktop CNCs, trim routers and palm routers with a 1/4" collet.
  • FOOS NANO COATED: The coating cuts friction, so the bit runs cooler, resists pitch and resin buildup, and holds a sharp edge longer than an uncoated bit. Less cleanup between jobs.
  • USA VETERAN-OWNED SUPPORT: US veteran-owned FOOS has sold router bits on Amazon for 10 years. Message us and a real person answers. Every bit is laser-engraved with FOOS and its part number.

FOOS Nano Coated Down Cut Spiral Router Bits, 1/4" shank, solid carbide.

What it is for: clean top edges on veneer, plywood and melamine, inlay pockets and sign lettering, while holding thin sheets down.

Materials: hardwood, softwood, plywood, MDF, acrylic, PVC, ABS, laminates and other plastics, plus aluminum, brass and other soft metals at light passes.

Fit: 1/4" shanks for 1/4" collets on CNC routers, desktop CNCs and trim routers.

FOOS Nano coating: the coating reduces friction at the cutting edge, so the bit runs cooler, resists pitch and resin buildup, and holds a sharp edge longer.

Every FOOS bit is laser-engraved with the FOOS brand and its part number, so reordering the right size is easy. FOOS is a US veteran-owned shop. Speeds and feeds depend on your machine, material and depth of cut. Message us and we will help you dial them in.

FOOS Part #s by size: 1/8" FB-6809, 3/16" FB-6874, 1/4" FB-8058.

These are starting points. Adjust for your machine's rigidity and material, and listen to the cut. Feed in inches per minute (IPM), depth is per pass, stepover is % of bit diameter. Down cut packs chips into the slot, so clear them often. Aluminum: light passes, air or mist.
